YS Lifetime Achievement Award: Wayne Rice
By Youth Specialties on October 17 2012
Recently in front of thousands of youth workers in San Diego, Wayne Rice a founding member of the Youth Specialties Team was honored with the Youth Specialties Lifetime Achievement Award.
Wayne Rice has been involved in ministry (mostly youth ministry) for almost 50 years. He’s also a bluegrass music nut. He is currently a pastor at a church in San Diego and doing some writing, speaking, consulting, broadcasting and banjo picking. He also loves being a husband, father and grandpa.
Thank you Wayne for the bold, creative, and courageous way you have inspired and led the way for youth workers to practically engage and minister to millions of students.

Wayne Rice is a hero to us all….especially to those of us who work with young teens.
He is an amazing encourager and cheerleader to the youth ministry world.
I have a mint-condition copy of “Junior High Ministry” that I’ll sell to the highest bidder!

What a great tribute to Wayne, and how he has allowed the Lord to use him over the many years! His service and dedication to youth leaders in helping to training the next up and coming generations in youth ministry continues to amaze us! We’ve always loved him and the whole YS crew over the many years. We’re so thankful to have been allowed to be a very small part in some of those good ole book covers and graphics way back when. :-) Continued blessings to the great crew at YS for honoring the legacy of Wayne and YS. It’s so great to see a place like NYWC, where youth leaders can come and be loved on, and understood, and get re-tooled to go back to their groups with a new fire. Thanks for all you do in His Kingdom!
