| Job Description |
Mason First United Methodist Church is a well-established congregation in mid-Michigan whose vision is to be a caring community of faith where people of all ages increasingly become more like Jesus and continually expand the reach of God’s love. Our congregation has just completed a process of defining our mission, vision and values and is in the process of clarifying the best ways to be faithful to the calling we feel God is extending to this congregation at this time. With input from the congregation we have formed a number of ministry goals that we feel will take us toward the future God intends. Chief among those goals is to strengthen our ministry to youth and young adults. Toward that end, we are seeking a part-time Youth Ministries Coordinator.
Primary Purpose/Responsibilities
The Youth Ministries Coordinator will build upon and strengthen a youth program which presently includes: Sunday School, Sunday evening youth group for junior and senior high, confirmation class, summer mission trip, and mid-week programs. The Youth Ministries Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Pastor, Children’s Ministries Coordinator and adult members of the Youth Ministry Team.
Qualified candidates will bring a high level of passion and energy for resourcing, equipping and organizing the many different aspects of the church’s ministry to youth. The Youth Ministries Coordinator will, in addition to programming, further develop a team of volunteers that work toward a shared vision.
Necessary Background
• Familiarity with the faith development needs of today’s youth and young adults
• Understanding of United Methodist history and beliefs
• Ability and temperament for youth ministry leadership

Compensation
This part-time position (less than 20 hours per week) pays a salary that will be based on consultation with the successful applicant. Prior experience will be considered in determining compensation.
