Reindeer Games

Ever wonder what those reindeer games were that Rudolph was excluded from? This might have been one. This activity can be a prelude to an evening of reindeer games of your own making.

Make your reindeer this way: Before the party, get as many queen-sized panty hose as there will be teams; volunteers will wear them over their heads. Cut a hole out of the backside of each panty hose for the volunteer’s face, then cut off both feet. Take lots of balloons to the party (they don’t have to be large ones).

The volunteers from the teams slip the panty hose over their heads. Their teammates then have two or three minutes to inflate (only partially) as many balloons as they can and stuff them up the legs of the panty hose, thus creating "antlers." When time is called, teams tie off each leg (to secure the balloons inside the "antlers"). The winning reindeer is judged by the number of balloons in its antlers as well as by the aesthetic shape of the antlers. Make the reindeer captains of their teams, then continue your own selection of games. Michael Capps
